NaviSite Managed Cloud Services

Architecture

Infrastructure Engineered for Your Business

NaviCloud delivers a secure, and flexible virtualized environment powered by VMware technology and hosted in NaviSite’s SAS 70 Type II certified data centers. The virtualized environment can be partitioned into multiple infrastructure  cloud complexes, each capable of running its own operating system and applications. The Infrastructure complex includes the basic building blocks of a system infrastructure service, including virtualized servers; Windows or Linux operating systems; storage; networking; built-in disaster recovery; shared or dedicated firewalls; and load balancers – all integrated using Cisco’s world-class Unified Computing System.

NaviCloud Complex

NaviSite’s multiple data centers are linked with dedicated 10Gbps connections, to create an industrial-grade cloud fabric that ensures scalability and business continuity

Enterprise Class Components

  • VMware’s vSphere, the first cloud operating system that allows you greater flexibility in migrating your virtual machines on-premise or off-premise.
  • CISCO Unified Computing System, the next-generation server platform that offers most reliable CPU/memory configurations for virtual environments. When coupled with the network components, it provides a secure and consistent computing environment without worrying about vendor incompatibilities
  • XiV IBM SAN Storage, the enterprise-class SAN storage that combines high I/O rates with redundancy from the fiber cable to the disk.
  • Mezeo’s Cloud Storage Platform for highly scalable, secure, and accessible storage abstraction and secondary storage
  • DoubleTake DR and Replication Software that provides reliable data protection in virtualized environment
  • High-connectivity Network –NaviCloud deploys the Nexus switching platform designed specifically for virtualized environments - from the physical core of the cloud to the virtualized switches running within VMware. 10 Gbps networking between cloud nodes and the core minimizes network-oriented bottlenecks, while high-speed connections to physical servers hosted within the NaviSite Data Center ensures that complex applications can scale and run to meet business demands
  • CISCO ASA Firewalls that can meet all firewall requirements ranging from basic to complex.
  • Cisco and Citrix Load Balancers that allow you to scale horizontally to accommodate application load increases while maintaining flexibility around business requirements and pricing. You can choose from a low-cost shared solution to support smaller environment or multiple virtual load balancers deployed and managed from within the cloud portal to support more complex environments.

How it works

We work with you to identify your IT infrastructure requirement and help you develop a compute capacity plan that is customized to run your environment. You purchase a hosted infrastructure cloud with the identified base capacity and services, and have root access to the virtual infrastructure.
Based on increase in your computing needs, you can provision additional resources (compute power, storage, memory, bandwidth) in real time – through NaviSite’s web-based self-service Management Console, AppCenter. You can provision and configure resources using self-managed or fully managed modes. You can even scale down, if your business’ computing demand drops. The AppCenter customer portal enables functional management of resources and provides insight into the performance and usage of the infrastructure and applications. Billing is linked to resource provisioning. You are billed only for provisioned and consumed resources – paying for what you need.

Configuration: Multiple Options to Meet Specific Needs

Fully Managed: NaviCloud’s Fully Managed mode creates a feature-rich, reliable production environment for critical and complex applications. It is fully monitored and managed infrastructure cloud along with various managed services such as network management, security management, and disaster recovery.
Monitored: NaviCloud’s Monitored mode delivers on-demand, fully monitored infrastructure with regular alerts to customers - allowing businesses to optimize their IT environment and use resources more efficiently.
Self Managed: NaviCloud’s Self Managed mode offers a robust build-destroy-build environment for deploying multiple test environments, choosing from a range of operating systems, databases, and middleware.
